Our 911 / Dispatch area is a Joint Communications Center located in the Tewksbury Police Station. We are staffed by a group of professional civilian employees. Each person is trained and certified in First aid, CPR, the Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) and the National Crime information Center (NCIC) computer systems, E911, emergency medical dispatch, law enforcement and fire department dispatch. The Communication Center is staffed by a minimum of two civilian dispatchers 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our experience ranges from the newly hired to those with several years of service. Each member is completely cross trained in both the police and fire services.
Our mission at the Communications Center is to serve. Our goal is to make you feel as comfortable as possible when calling police, fire, medical, or 911, and respond in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner.
A backup communications center is located at the Fire Departments' Central Station. In the event that the primary Communications Center is unusable for a period of time, operations could be transferred to the backup communications site.
