The Town of Tewksbury has continued to work on the ongoing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Program. In April and November 2008, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) and Pictometry Inc. respectively, organized and performed a low altitude flyover of the Town's geographical territory. This flyover constituted of high-resolution ortho-photography (straight-down pictures) and oblique images (side views), which will be of immense help for the Town of Tewksbury for continuing its GIS efforts. This will allow the GIS Program to continue updating old data and
developing new layers for the various uses of the Town's departments.
At this time the Town is actively seeking to make all of this data available to its employees and, at some point in the future, to the general public.
Please check back later for more updates on the Town of Tewksbury's GIS Program.
